Government aims to  eliminate oligarchs:  Mirza Fakhrul

Local Government and Rural Development Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the government wants to ensure equal rights for everyone in the country by eliminating oligarchs and syndicators. 

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir asserted this point while addressing a conference organized by Foreign Ministry and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) at a hotel in Dhaka city on Saturday (13 June 2026).

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said "I am not here today to talk as a panel discussant. Rather I would like to tell you about our principal objectives and the government's pledges. We want to work out effective strategies for dealing with risk factors and to move ahead in light of proper directives for Bangladesh's socioeconomic advancement."

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated that the government has accomplished some vital jobs within just 100 days of taking power. He emphasized that BNP wants to transform Bangladesh into a self-sufficient and wealthy country by means of peace and stability.

Earlier on Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir placed flowers on the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia with the newly constituted executive committee members of Jubo Dol on the same day. 

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed hope that Jubo Dol will be playing important roles in implementing Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's vision. The government intends to drive Bangladesh forward with youths on the frontline, Mirza Fakhrul added.
