Content creator Fahim shown arrested in Anti-Terrorism Act case

A Dhaka court on Sunday ordered that content creator RS Fahim Chowdhury be shown arrested in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Ramna Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana passed the order after allowing a plea filed by Sub-Inspector Amir Hamza of the DB Cyber and Special Crime (South) unit, state prosecutor Advocate Shamsuddoha Suman confirmed.

The application was filed on 9 June, and the court set Sunday for its hearing.

According to the plea, preliminary evidence was found linking Fahim to the incident along with other named and unidentified fugitive accused.
The investigating officer sought the detention, arguing that the case is sensitive and high-profile.

According to the case documents, the accused allegedly held a conspiratorial meeting on 9 February 2025, in the Ramna Model Police Station area, with the intent to undermine the state's integrity, unity, and sovereignty.

They reportedly fled the scene after sensing the presence of police.

The case was filed by Sub-Inspector Rezaul Karim of Ramna Police Station. Fahim has been identified in the investigation as a former Chhatra League leader and alleged financier.

On 29 March, Fahim was detained by a group of people in the Mirpur Zoo area and later handed over to Shah Ali Police Station.
