The streets of Chuadanga turned into a vibrant sea of sky-blue and white as thousands of football fans brought out a  procession carrying a 2,000-foot-long Argentina flag, marking the growing excitement around the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The grand rally began Tuesday afternoon from the Town Football Field in the district town.

It then paraded through major roads including Shaheed Hasan Chattar (Chourasta intersection), Court Mor and College Road before returning to the starting point, reports UNB.

Supporters from different parts of the district joined the procession. Participants also carried Argentina jerseys, national flags of Bangladesh and Argentina, banners and festoons, while chanting slogans in support of their favourite team.

The festive atmosphere was further amplified by World Cup-themed songs and rhythmic drumbeats, as fans celebrated the global football spectacle with enthusiasm and energy.

Argentina supporter Sheikh Liton said the district has a large number of Argentina fans who unite during the World Cup to celebrate together.
"We hope Argentina will perform well this time and remain in the race for the title," he said.

Another supporter, Shirin Jaman, said football is more than just a game.

"It is an emotion. We joined this procession to express our love for our favourite team and share the joy of the World Cup with everyone," she said.
Organisers said the event aimed to spread a message of friendship, harmony and celebration through football.

Chuadanga's Argentina supporters are highly enthusiastic this season and plan to organise more programmes throughout the tournament.

Large crowds gathered along the streets to witness the procession, with many locals standing on both sides of the roads to enjoy the festive scenes.
Supporters also said that more events will be organised during the World Cup to keep the festive spirit alive and engage football lovers across the district.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, kicked off on June 11 and will continue until July 19, marking the first time the tournament is being held across three countries.
