Drug trader arrested with 1.30 lakh yaba pills in Teknaf
The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG), in a special drive, has arrested an alleged drug trader with 1.30 lakh yaba tablets worth around Tk 6.5 crore in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon gave this information at noon on Tuesday.
He said, "A special operation was conducted at around 1:00 am on Monday in the Alikhali area adjacent to Hnila under Teknaf Police Station. During the drive, the coast guard members detained the drug peddler with the 1.30 lakh yaba tablets wroth about Taka 6.5 crore." He said legal proceedings against the detainee and about the recovered contraband items are underway.
He further said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent the spread of dangerous drugs.
