The Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retired) AKM Shamsul Islam inspected Khulna Shipyard Limited on Wednesday (17 June 2026). Khulna Shipyard has always played vital roles in the repair and maintenance of Bangladesh Navy's frigates, building up ships and driving forward the country's maritime industries. AKM Shamsul Islam laid emphasis on enhancing Khulna Shipyard's capacity and boosting its productive range. He admired the professionalism and standards of the shipyard, its officials and workers.
Top functionaries of Khulna Shipyard informed AKM Shamsul Islam about the operational activities and human resources of the organization. The Defence Adviser looked around different shops, factories and sections of the shipyard and gave necessary directives and guidelines.
AKM Shamsul Islam also inspected the vessels made in Khulna Shipyard and expressed his appreciation. He extended best wishes for all out success and achievements of Khulna Shipyard and exchanged views on relevant matters with higher officials.
