Jamaat-E-Islami Ameer and Parliament's Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has requested Iran to build up a world class hospital in Bangladesh. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian citizens in the invasion by Israel and United States in recent times. Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi and his colleagues paid a courtesy call on Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday.
The Jamaat Ameer and the Iranian Embassy delegates talked about launching Tehran-Dhaka direct flights and initiating medical tourism between Iran and Bangladesh during the meeting. Discussions were also held between both sides on deepening friendly ties between Iran and Bangladesh, joint efforts on cultural affairs and educational endeavours, healthcare services and some other relevant issues associated with the Muslim Ummah.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman admired Iran for signing a peace deal with the United States. The Jamaat Ameer spoke very high of Iran's constructive role in driving forward the peace process with US.
Jamaat Ameer's international affairs adviser Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman, Ali Mabrur, Iranian Embassy officials First Counselor Esrafili Amiri Gorazaddini, Cultural Affairs Counselor Mahdi Molars and Media and Public Relations Officer Mahfuzul Haque were present on the occasion.
