Badiul Alam Majumder, General Secretary of Shushanorer Jonno Nagorik Shomaj (Shujon) has criticized the government for not adding proper value to the 2024 July Uprising. He said that the government led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is showing indifference and defiance in materializing the vision and goals of the July martyrs. Badiul Alam Majumder stated that having a negligent approach to the referendum result darkens the government's accomplishments.
Shujon leaders addressed a roundtable seminar in the capital's National Press Club on Sunday. The discussants at the program assessed the successes and failures of the government during last four months since taking power on 12 February 2026. Shujon Central Coordinator Dilip Kumar commented that the government is facing huge challenges like reducing unemployment figures, working on women empowerment and firm stance against corruption. Dilip Kumar also underlined the ruling authorities' dillydally in implementing reform proposals. Moreover, he expressed concern over the poor status of law and order situation all over Bangladesh.
Speakers at the seminar called upon the government to dissolve evil entities in the country's banking sector and marked the ongoing crisis in Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC as a risky phenomenon.
