IBCCI vows to further strengthen Bangladesh-Italy economic cooperation

The Founding General Meeting of the Bangladesh Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BICCI) was held on Saturday at the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka, marking the formal establishment of a new bilateral business platform dedicated to strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Italy.

The meeting was inaugurated by His Excellency Antonio Alessandro, Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his remarks, he highlighted the growing economic relationship between Bangladesh and Italy and welcomed the establishment of BICCI as an important initiative to further enhance bilateral business engagement and investment opportunities. The event was also attended by Donatella Di Virgilio, Trade Policy & Economic Attaché of the Embassy of Italy to Bangladesh, as Honorary Member, and Mohammed Abdullah, Promotional Desk Officer, as Special Invitee. The meeting was convened by Martina Meneghello, Convener of the Founding Committee, and attended by sixteen Founder Members representing the Bangladesh-Italy business community.

During the meeting, the Founder Members unanimously approved the establishment of the Bangladesh Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BICCI) and adopted its Memorandum and Articles of Association. 

The meeting also elected the Chamber's first Board of Directors.

The elected Office Bearers are President: Martina Meneghello, Vice Presidents Moshiur Ahmmed (Lion), Giulio Lombardo, Filippo Cristante, Treasurer, Borhan Uddin Ahmed.

The remaining Founder Members were elected as Directors, collectively constituting the First Board of Directors of BICCI.

BICCI aims to promote bilateral trade and investment, facilitate business networking and partnerships, encourage industrial cooperation and technology transfer, and support stronger economic ties between Bangladesh and Italy.

The Founder Members expressed their sincere appreciation to the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka for hosting and supporting this important milestone in Bangladesh-Italy business relations.
