S. M. Lablur Rahman, Member (Administration) of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) and an Additional Secretary to the Government, has filed a case with Airport Police Station alleging that his signature was forged to create fraudulent documents aimed at damaging his reputation.
The case was filed on Monday, and its filing was confirmed by Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kamrul Hasan Talukdar.
According to the complaint, unidentified persons allegedly prepared a fake agreement using Rahman’s forged signature. The document named Rahman as the first party and one Fahad Hossain as the second party, claiming that Hossain would receive financial benefits if Rahman became Chairman of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).
The complaint also states that a separate consent letter was fabricated in Rahman’s name, allegedly bearing another forged version of his signature.
Upon learning about the documents, Rahman took legal action and filed the case, seeking an investigation into the matter.
“My signature has been forged and used to create completely false and fabricated documents,” Rahman said. “I have no connection whatsoever with these papers or the claims made in them.”
He alleged that the incident was part of a deliberate attempt by vested interests to tarnish his personal and professional reputation.
“I have sought legal remedy so that the truth can be established and those responsible can be brought to justice,” he added.
Police officials said the allegations would be investigated in accordance with the law, and appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
