Job Fair held in Narayanganj
A daylong Job Fair-2026 aimed at promoting youth employment, skills development, and entrepreneurship was held in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Raihan Kabir inaugurated the day-long job fair at the Hira Community Center in Chashara area of Narayanganj metropolis yesterday.
With the technical assistance of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation-PKSF and the implementation of the RAISE project of the Disadvantaged Health Center-DSK, the aim of the job fair is to develop skilled manpower and create employment for the youths.
Speaking the event as the chief guest, DC Md. Raihan Kabir said, "Employment is the key to the progress of a nation. This initiative of PKSF's RAISE project has brought training, skill development and job opportunities for the youth on the same platform.
The government's goal is that every educated and trained youth should get employment opportunities according to their qualifications."
He urged the youth to develop the mindset of being an entrepreneur along with education and training. He assured the district administration of cooperation in all employment-oriented initiatives.
DSK Joint Director (Loan Activities) Md. Alauddin presided over the program, and Shahinur Rahman, Environment Expert of RAISE Project, PKSF, was present as special guest.
DSK Joint Director Md. Alauddin said in his speech that the main goal of RAISE - the Informal Sector Employment Restoration and Skill Development Project - is to re-integrate the affected youth into the job market by training them in the post-COVID period. This job fair is part of that process.
Various industrial organizations including garments, IT, and service sectors participated in this fair organized under the RAISE project with stalls. Job seekers got the opportunity to talk directly to employers, submit CVs, and give instant interviews.
The organizers said that the main objective of this fair is to connect skilled and semi-skilled manpower with the demand of the job market. Through this, the project will play an important role in reducing unemployment and creating self-employment.
The event was attended by officials of PKSF, DSK and RAISE projects, local dignitaries, teachers and a large number of job seekers.
