An SSC examinee died after being electrocuted while touching a metal grill at his house in Bogadi village of Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Jubayer Hossain, 16, son of Hafizul Islam of Bogadi village under Bhangbaria Union. He appeared in this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination from Bhogail-Bogadi Secondary School. According to locals, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm when Jubayer came into contact with the grill of his house and received an electric shock.
Family members rescued him and rushed him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty physician at the emergency department declared him dead.
Dr Afrina Islam, an emergency department physician at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, said the teenager was brought to the hospital without any signs of life.
"After examination, he was found dead. Family members informed us that he had been electrocuted," she added.
