BUET holds Fresher’s Orientation for 2025-2026 academic year

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organized Fresher’s Orientation program for the newly enrolled Level-1/Term-1 undergraduate students of 2025-2026 academic year on Saturday at BUET Central Auditorium.

Minister of Education, Primary & Mass Education Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon graced the occasion as Chief Guest and the Hon’ble Prime Minister's adviser on Education, Primary and Mass Education Mahdi Amin graced as the Special Guest. BUET Vice-Chancellor  Prof. Dr. Eqramul Hoque attended as Chairman and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury attended as Special Guest.

In his address, Education Minister congratulated the students on earning the opportunity to study at BUET. He further stated, "We are working to transform the country's educated population into human resources. Today's students will play a crucial role in this regard. We must all work together for the overall development of the country." 

Mahdi Amin emphasized in his speech, "One of the government's primary goals is to ensure an education that shapes students into skilled, career-oriented and responsible citizens. We must build an education system that integrates knowledge with skills, preparing students for real life."

Addressing the fresher’s, the BUET Vice-Chancellor remarked, "You have secured a place at BUET by overcoming a tough admission battle. You must make the best use of it. You have to complete your course within the stipulated time while adhering to the rules and discipline of BUET. Pursue higher education abroad, but you must have a sense of responsibility towards the country." 

BUET Pro-Vice-Chancellor also spoke to the incoming students, stating, "Gaining admission to BUET has earned you social acceptance. You now represent BUET. 

Therefore, you bear a great responsibility towards the nation." Moderated by BUET Registrar Prof. Dr. Nayeb Md. Golam Zakaria, the orientation program was convened by the Director of Student Welfare (DSW), Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Masud. Deans of all faculties, department heads, directors of institutes, centers, offices and directorates, hall provosts, teachers, students and guardians were present at the event.
