Reaffirming its commitment to building a knowledge-based and humane society, Vidyasagar Society Bangladesh held its 30th Annual Conference 2026 on Sunday at 10:00 am at 49 Purana Airport Road, Dhaka-1215.
The conference was chaired by Md. Mahbubul Islam, while Dr. Narayan Chandra Biswas, former Professor of the Department of Sanskrit at the University of Dhaka, attended as the Chief Guest.
During the session, Vidyasagar Society's annual report was presented by Dr. Mohammad Abdul Hye, Secretary General of the organization. A condolence motion honoring the memory of the organization's 73 deceased life members was presented by Professor Dr. Chinmoy Howlader, followed by a one-minute silence in their remembrance.
The conference also elected a new 21-member Executive Committee, with distinguished educationist, bilingual author and researcher Professor Dr. Harun Ur Rashid Askari elected as President, while author and editor Dr. Mohammad Abdul Hye was re-elected as Secretary General.
Established in Dhaka in 1997, Vidyasagar Society Bangladesh organized 32 seminars and published 18 books and 52 commemorative publications both at home and abroad during its nearly three decades of journey. Of its approximately 300 life members, 73 have passed away.
Vidyasagar Society Bangladesh is dedicated to promoting interfaith harmony, supporting a secular education system, and nurturing young people to help build a knowledge-based, humane and inclusive society.
