KSRM donates medical equipment worth Tk 2 cr to CMC

Leading steel manufacturer KSRM has donated advanced medical equipment worth approximately Tk 2 crore to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), reinforcing its commitment to supporting the country's healthcare sector and improving patient care.

The medical equipment was officially handed over on Saturday  by KSRM Deputy Managing Director Selim Uddin to Additional Secretary (Budget) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Arif Ahmed and CMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin at the hospital's conference room.

The donated equipment includes four hemodialysis machines, four real-time 4D ultrasound machines, and one state-of-the-art GE Color Doppler system. Hospital officials described the equipment as modern, high-quality and vital for enhancing diagnostic and treatment services.

Among those present at the ceremony were KSRM Director (Sales and Marketing) Jasim Uddin, Deputy Director Dr. Ilias Chowdhury, Assistant Director Dr. Kazi Saiful Alam, Dr. Deb Prasad Chakraborty, Dr. Ruma Bhattacharya, KSRM Deputy General Manager Wahiduzzaman, Mostafa Anwar, Media Advisor Mizanul Islam, Manager Taj Uddin, Corporate Physician Dr. Mezbah Uddin, Dr. Junaid Ahmed, Brand Coordinator Moniruzzaman Riyad, Mizan ul Haque, Mithun Barua, Mizanul Islam, and senior officials from both organizations.

Speaking at the event, Additional Secretary Arif Ahmed said the budget allocated for the 2,200-bed Chattogram Medical College Hospital remains inadequate to meet the growing healthcare demands. As a result, many patients struggle to afford treatment. "Support from corporate organizations like KSRM will significantly benefit patients. I urge other industrial groups to come forward and contribute to the healthcare sector in a similar manner," he said. CMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin praised KSRM's continued humanitarian efforts, saying the company has consistently stood beside the hospital during times of need.

"Whenever we face a crisis, KSRM is among the first to extend support. Their contribution has become a symbol of trust for us. These life-saving medical devices will enable critically ill patients to receive advanced treatment at affordable costs and further strengthen the hospital's emergency healthcare services," he said.

On behalf of KSRM, Director (Sales and Marketing) Jasim Uddin said the company remains committed to serving people through meaningful humanitarian initiatives.

"We are proud to stand beside Chattogram Medical College Hospital in its mission to provide quality healthcare. Supporting humanitarian causes has always been a core value of KSRM, and we will continue our efforts to serve the people in the future," he added.
