De Violet Vanguard clinch Inter De Guerrian Football Tournament title
Azimpur-based football club De Guerra FC hosted a day-long Inter De Guerrian Football Tournament 2026 Season -6 which was held amid festive mood at Delwar Hossain Playground in Lalbagh in the capital on Friday.
Total six teams took part in the six-a-side football tournament where De Violet Vanguard secured the title of Season -6. Each team played two matches in the round stage and after showing some determined football four teams finally booked last four tickets.
In the first semifinal, De Violet Vanguard scrapped past De Green Falcon in a thrilling tie-breaker to book final spot. Both teams netted twice in the stipulated times but De Violet Vanguard edged past De Green Falcon in the thrilling tie-breaker by 4-2 goals.
In the second semifinal, De White Invincible outshined De Black Battalion by 3-1 goals in a thrilling tie-breaker to secure final spot. The match ended by 1-1 in the stipulated time.
In the exciting final match, De Violet Vanguard beat De White Invincible to seal the trophy after yet another thrilling tie-breaker. The final match ended a goalless draw and after that the match decided tie-breaker where champion De Violet Vanguard netted four goals while runner-up De White Invincible were able to manage four goals.
De White Invincible's Tonoy was named the player of the tournament. Nahid of De Black Battalion was the top scorer while De White Invincible's Jahir was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Earlier, Robin Hossain, President of Delwar Hossain Playground inaugurated the day-long football tournament as chief guest.
The bilingual monthly magazine and online portal "Dhaka Herald" was the media partner of the event.
De Guerra F.C is a renowned football club based in Azimpur area. Since the inception in 2009, the Club has been hosting football tournament every year with Azimpur local people. Since 2016 the club has been organsing inter De Guerrian Tournament every year.
Current President of the club is Md Sumon, General Secretary Moshahid Omar, Vice president Kazi Ashik-ul-islam, Ashraf Adnan, Mazharul Islam Mithu, Organising Secratory Hr Russel and Legal affairs secretary Advocate Akm Anis.
