Madaripur municipality announces Tk 110cr budget

Madaripur municipality has announced a Taka 110 crore annual budget for the 2026-2027 financial year. In the announced budget, income and expenditure have been fixed at 110 crore 67 lakh 16 thousand 360 taka. 

Municipal Administrator Jasmine Akter Banu announced the budget through a program organized at the Municipal Auditorium on Monday (June 29) afternoon. In the budget, priority has been given to various development projects including afforestation, establishment of dumping zones for garbage management, de-watering of the city, development of roads, development of education and health care and anti-corruption awareness activities with the aim of building a clean, modern and aesthetic municipality.

Madaripur municipality Chief Executive Officer Md Asmat Hossain, Executive Officer Khandaker Abu Ahmed Firoz Ilyas, President of the Conscious Citizen Committee (CCC) Khan Md. Shaheed, CCC members Enayet Hossain Nannu and Shahana Nasrin Ruby, President of Madaripur Press Club Aliul Ahsan Kajal, General Secretary Belal Rizvi and representatives of political, social and cultural arenas were present at the budget program. 

To mention, Madaripur municipality was established in 1875. Its area is 14.5 square kilometers. Madaripur municipality consists of 9 wards and 34 mauzas. About 28 thousand families live in it and the total population is about two hundred thousand.
