Terrorists Failed to Divide Us: Speakers at Holey Artisan 10th Anniversary Memorial
The terrorists who launched the brutal assault on the Holey Artisan Bakery a decade ago aimed to sow seeds of hatred and fracture the bonds between Bangladesh and the international community. However, their violent agenda failed, serving instead to deepen public solidarity, underscore the vital importance of dialogue, and reinforce a collective resolve against extremism.
These reflections were shared by dignitaries and guests gathered today at the official residence of the Italian Ambassador in Gulshan, Dhaka, to honor the victims of the tragedy.
This day marks the solemn tenth anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack that shook the nation on the night of July 1, 2016.
Speaking at the memorial event, attendees emphasized that while the tragedy inflicted deep wounds, it ultimately galvanized the nation's determination to resist radicalism. Representatives and speakers called upon citizens and global partners to maintain unwavering vigilance to ensure that the forces of terrorism find no footing to re-emerge on Bangladeshi soil.
The guests also urged the international community and the nation to forever cherish and remember the brave individuals who lost their lives during that dark night a decade ago, praising their memory as an enduring symbol of resilience.
