BEPZA joins national campaign to plant 25 crore trees

As part of its commitment to promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable industrialisation, the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) has launched a tree plantation programme across its zones.

The initiative was formally inaugurated on Wednesday during a visit to the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, ndc, afwc, psc, G, MPhil, who planted a bakul sapling to mark the occasion.

The programme aligns with the current government's nationwide commitment to plant 25 crore trees over the next five years. It also forms part of BEPZA's ongoing efforts to advance decarbonisation, develop green industrial zones, and ensure sustainable industrial growth.

The tree plantation programme will be implemented in phases across all BEPZA Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and Economic Zones. By placing equal emphasis on industrial development and environmental conservation, BEPZA continues to work towards building a greener, cleaner, and more climate-resilient industrial ecosystem.
