'Govt must bring backward communities into mainstream of development'

Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain on Wednesday said the government has been working to bring backward communities into the mainstream of development.

He came up with the remarks while at the closing ceremony of 15-daylong training course under the quality of life improvement program for the backward communities organized by the District Administration and District Social Service Office at the Dinajpur Social Service Complex. 

Later, the certificates were distributed among the participants. Cows and goats were also distributed on the occasion. 

Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said, "To build a Bangladesh without discrimination, everyone has to work together. The knowledge gained from the training should be used to become self-reliant."

Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Md Rafiqul Islam presided over the program while Dinajpur Sadar constituency Member of Parliament Syed Jahangir Alam MP, Police Superintendent Md Zedan Al Musa PPM, Divisional Social Service Office Rangpur Director (Deputy Secretary) Md. Zilufa Sultana, Zila Parishad Administrator Md. Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, Civil Surgeon Dr Golam Rasul Rakhi, District BNP General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi and District Livestock Officer Dr Md Abdur Rahim spoke on the occasion. 

Dinajpur District Social Service Deputy Director Md. Abdul Matin delivered the welcome speech while Assistant Director Md. Rukunuzzaman Mandal, City Social Service Officer Md. Mainul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Golam Azam and various Upazila officers were also present.
