New York City is buzzing, the mayor is winking and the lobster has arrived.
Taylor Swift's rumoured wedding at Madison Square Garden (MSG) may be closer than anyone expected, the BBC reports.
Since the pop superstar and National Football League (NFL) star Travis Kelce got engaged last summer in the backyard of his Kansas City home, the question on every fan's mind has been the same: when and where is the wedding?
Swift, famous for hiding clues in everything from her wardrobe to her lyrics, has said absolutely nothing.
That has not stopped the rest of the world from doing plenty of talking. What began as tabloid fodder started looking a lot more real when The New York Times reported that permits had been requested for a large event at MSG from Thursday through the weekend, with several blocks of busy Manhattan set to be shut down.
The paper stopped short of calling it a wedding, describing it as a celebration that could be related to the couple's nuptials. The BBC's US media partner CBS News reported that the couple are planning a rehearsal dinner for around 100 people at the arena's Infosys Theater on Thursday, starting around 6pm local time.
Crews have been spotted unloading stage equipment, lights, foliage, boxes labelled "branches", a 40-inch mirror ball and a large white staircase railing. Then came the food, including what appeared to be lobster. A large red carpet was briefly rolled out on the arena steps on Tuesday before being whisked away just as quickly, sending fans into a frenzy.
