Three-day Nazrul year celebrations conclude in Habiganj
A three-day colourful programme marking the year of the literary creations of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam concluded in Habiganj on Saturday.
Aimed at introducing Nazrul's literature, music and cultural philosophy to the younger generation, the district administration and the District Shilpakala Academy jointly organised the celebrations that began on July 2.
On the opening day of the program (July 2), Prime Minister Mr. Tariq Rahman, MP officially inaugurated the 'Najrul Year 2026-2027' through video conference from the Secretariat. At this time, he unveiled the logo and commemorative postage stamp of 'Nazrul Year'.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Dr GM Sarfaraz participated virtually in the opening ceremony from Habiganj District Commissioner's conference room.
District Nazrul researchers, journalists, cultural personalities, artists and Sudheejan were present with him.
In his speech, DC Dr GM Sarfaraz called upon the National Poet Kazi Nazrul to devote himself to literary and cultural activities by adopting the ideals of Islam, equality, humanity and non-communal spirit.
The organizers said the main goal of the event is to present the literature, music, philosophy and humanitarian ideals of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam more widely to the new generation.
