Iqbal Hossain new DIG Dhaka Range
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Special Branch (SB) of police, Md. Iqbal Hossain, has been appointed as the new DIG of the Dhaka Range.
The posting was made in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Toufique Ahmed of the Police-1 Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday (5 July 2026).
The same notification also mentioned the transfer of five other police officials.
According to the notification, Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Ashik Sayeed has been appointed as DIG of the Rajshahi Range; DIG Abu Raihan Mohammad Saleh of Police Headquarters has been appointed Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police; DIG of Barishal Range Md. Mostafizur Rahman has been appointed DIG of Khulna Range; DIG of Khulna Range Md. Rezaul Haque has been transferred to the Industrial Police as DIG; and DIG of Rajshahi Range Mohammad Shahjahan has been appointed to the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
