Nat'l Rural Development Day observed in Kamalganj
With the theme 'Developed Villages, Prosperous Nation -Bangladesh First', 'National Rural Development Day 2026' was celebrated in various ways in Kamalganj of Moulvibazar.
On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally and discussion meeting were organized by the Upazila Administration and Rural Development Office on Monday.
In the morning, a colorful rally was brought out from the Upazila Parishad premises and paraded the main roads of the city. After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Kamalganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Asaduzzaman was present as the chief guest at the event while Upazila Rural Development Officer Sayeed Nazmul Hasan was in the chair.
Conducted by Upazila Agriculture Officer Jayanta Kumar Singha, the event was attended by District BNP Convening Committee member Md. Durud Ahmed, Upazila BNP Convener and UP Chairman of No. 2 Patan Ushaar Oli Ahmed Khan, UP Chairman of No. 7 Adampur Abdal Hossain, Upazila UCCA Ltd Chairman Sarwar Shokrana Nanna, SI Amir Ali, Kamalganj Press Club President Ashabuzzaman Shawon and Upazila Cooperative Officer Salik Ahmed Bhuiyan and others were present at the program.
The speakers at the program said that the overall development of the country is possible only through rural development.
The Rural Development Department is playing an important role in improving the quality of life of the people of rural areas, creating employment and achieving self-reliance in achieving the development goals of the government. Everyone was urged to work together to keep the wheels of the rural economy moving.
The three best associations were awarded honorary awards at the event. In addition, a loan of 6 lakh taka was provided to Uttargaon Bhanubil Krishak Samabay Samity.
At the end of the program, a total of 150 beneficiaries were given saplings. The event was attended by officials from various departments of the upazila administration, journalists, public representatives, members of the Rural Development Office and local dignitaries.
