Coast Guard launches tree plantation program

Bangladesh Coast Guard has launched tree plantation program with the theme, "Let's Beautify the Country through Tree Plantation, Bangladesh Comes First".

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan revealed the information on Thursday.

He said, "Keeping in mind the theme 'Let's Beautify the Country through Tree Plantation, Bangladesh Comes First', the current government has emphasized the participation of all levels in the national tree plantation program to protect the environment, combat the effects of climate change and ensure sustainable greening. Expressing solidarity with this initiative of the government, Bangladesh Coast Guard is also actively participating in the national tree plantation drive."

In continuation of this, Bangladesh Coast Guard Director General Rear Admiral Md. Ziaul Haque officially planted trees at the Coast Guard Headquarters on the occasion of Tree Plantation Drive-2026 at 1 pm yesterday. At the same time, a coordinated tree plantation drive program was held in all zones, stations and outposts under the jurisdiction of the Coast Guard. "In addition to ensuring the security of the sea and coast, environmental protection is also an integral part of the national responsibility of the Coast Guard.

 Today's program reaffirms the commitment to building a green, safe and sustainable Bangladesh", the media officer added.
