ICSB sign MoU with the Dept. of Accounting, DU
Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) and the Department of Accounting, University of Dhaka (DU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, 9 July 2026, at the Faculty of Business Studies, DU marking a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between academia and the professional community.
The MoU was signed on behalf of ICSB by Mr. Hossain Sadat FCS, President of the Instituteand on behalf of Department of Accounting, DU by Prof. Md. Maksudur Rahman Sarker FCMA, Chairman of the Department.
The partnership is designed to promote mutual cooperation in areas including professional education, research, training, knowledge exchange and capacity building, thereby bridging gap between academic learning and professional practice.
Speaking on the occasion, the distinguished speakers emphasized the growing importance of academia-industry collaboration in developing future-ready professionals equipped with technical competence, ethical values and leadership capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the corporate world.
Both institutions expressed their confidence that this strategic partnership would create new avenues for collaborative efforts and promotion of good governance and corporate excellence in Bangladesh.
The ceremony was attended by ICSB leadership and Faculty Members of the Department. Among the notable attendees from the Department of Accounting, DU were Prof.Dr. Dhiman Kumar Chowdhury; Prof.Dr. Mahfuzul Hoque; Prof.Dr. Md. Monzur Morshed; Prof. Dr. Md. Musfiqur Rahman and Associate Prof. Ishter Mahal; from ICSB Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam FCS, Senior Vice President and Chairman of Education Committee; Mr. Md. Sharif Hasan FCS, Vice President; Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman FCS, Treasurer; Council Members, Mr. M NurulAlam FCS; Mr. Mohammad Shahajahan FCS; Mr. Mohammed Harun-Ar-Rashid FCS; Mr. Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan FCS; Mr. M Mazedul Islam FCS; Mr. Md. Shabbirul Alam Chowdhury, Secretary & Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Md. Shamibur Rahman FCS, Senior Executive Director (F&A) and Mr. Kazi Andaleeb Amin, Director (Education). The signing ceremony concluded with the exchange of the signed MoU documents followed by an official photo session.
