High-level committee formed to speed up mobile court activities

The government has formed a high-level committee to enhance the effectiveness of mobile courts across the country and remove obstacles to their operations. The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Sunday.

According to the circular, the seven-member committee will be chaired by the Adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration.

Its other members are the State Minister for Public Administration, the Cabinet Secretary, the Public Administration Secretary, the Home Affairs Secretary, the Finance Division Secretary and the Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division.

The committee has been tasked with identifying all legal, policy and institutional obstacles affecting the operation of mobile courts under different ministries, divisions, offices and organizations. It will also prepare short, medium and long-term recommendations to address these challenges.

In addition, the committee will make specific recommendations to ensure the availability of operational support systems, necessary equipment and other ancillary support required for the effective functioning of mobile courts, the circular added.

The notification further stated that the committee may invite representatives from any ministry, division, office or organization, as well as experts in relevant fields, to attend its meetings whenever necessary to facilitate its work.

The committee will be authorized to convene meetings at any time as required, while district and field-level administrations will provide the necessary secretarial support, according to the circular.
