With theme "Implementing the hopes and aspirations of youth, building a beautiful future with today's conviction", World Population Day 2026 was observed with a focus on harnessing youth potential to build a prosperous future.
To mark the occasion, District Administration and District Family Planning Office, Dinajpur jointly organized a discussion meeting and award distribution program at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Sunday.
District Family Planning Office Deputy Director ATM Nazmul Huda presided over the event while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) SM Habibul Hasan spoke as the chief guest. Speaking the occasion, SM Habibul Hasan said, "In today's world, youth are the main driving force for development and progress. Ensuring their education, skill development, employment and health service opportunities is of utmost importance. If we can enrich the youth with technology-based knowledge and skills, they will be able to play an important role in the economic and social development of the country. Remember that high population is not a curse, it should be turned into a blessing." Dinajpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamalika Pal, Dinajpur Civil Surgeon Dr Md Golam Rasul Rakhi, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Md Rafiqul Alam spoke as special guests while Assistant Director (CC) of the District Family Planning Office Dr Md Rezaul Haque delivered the welcome speech.
District Family Planning Department honored 10 best workers and organizations at the district level and 4 people as the best workers and 4 organizations as the best organizations at the upazila level with crests.
