Three robbers with 44 sacks of sugar in Rupganj
Police arrested three members of a robber gang along with the looted goods in Rupganj of Narayanganj on Saturday night.
The arrestees have been identified as Sumon, son of Abul Hashem of Kadamtali area of Dhaka district, Omar Faruk, son of late Shahidul Islam of Raipura police station of Narsingdi district, and Shahid Mir, son of late Mannan Mia of Dhumki police station of Patuakhali district.
Confirming the matter, AHM Salauddin, officer-in-charge of Rupganj Police Station, said, "Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted the raid in the Golakandail area. During the drive, three robbers were arrested along with 44 sacks of sugar and a truck used in robbery."
The arrestees have been sent to Narayanganj court for further legal action, the OC added.
