Ever since Aamir Khan married Gauri Spratt, the actor has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. He has been accused of practicing ‘love jihad’ and a section of people have been slamming the Bollywood superstar. Amid all this, Aamir has now reacted to the ‘love jihad’ allegations, stating he never asked his partners to change their religion.
“Well, the truth is that ours is a very inclusive family," Aamir told Deccan Chronicle and then added, “Both my sisters are married to Hindus, and my daughter too is married to a Hindu. My cousin Mansoor is married to a Christian. Gauri, Reena and Kiran did not change their religions when they married me, as we had civil marriages. Gauri is not a Hindu, she is Christian, and not even a practising Christian at that. Life is getting more comical as time passes.”
Recently, members of Bajrang Dal in Bihar’s Forbesganj area held a protest against Aamir Khan’s third marriage to Gauri Spratt. They burnt Bollywood actor’s effigy and accused him of practicing ‘love jihad’. During the protests, slogans like “Aamir Khan murdabad" and “Aamir Khan jihadi Bharat chodo" were also raised.
In a statement that Bajrang Dal leader Manoj Soni released, he said, “Aamir Khan lagataar Hindu behen betiyon ko shaadi racha kar ke line laga raha hai (Aamir Khan is repeatedly marrying Hindu women and daughters, effectively lining them up)" to insult the Hindu society.
Soni further claimed that Aamir Khan is working “to weaken the Hindus as part of a massive conspiracy." He further threatened to teach Aamir Khan a lesson “if he does not stop such antics soon".
