Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan on Monday unveiled the commemorative plaque of the Bangladesh Centre for Air and Space Power Studies (BCASPS) building at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment, according to an ISPR press release.
On the occasion, the Chief of Air Staff planted a tree on the premises of the newly inaugurated BCASPS building and participated in a special prayer. He later toured the facility and inspected its administrative and operational activities.
It is worth mentioning that BCASPS officially commenced its journey on 18 January 2026 with the inauguration of its institutional activities and official website. Since its establishment, under the overall guidance of the Chief of Air Staff, BCASPS has been making significant contributions to research and knowledge development in the fields of air and space power, national security, the strategic environment and defence policy.
Expressing his optimism at the inauguration of the new building, the Chief of Air Staff stated that the dedicated facility would further strengthen the Centre's research, education and policy-support initiatives.
Recently, BCASPS was formally registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC).
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Principal Staff Officers of Air Headquarters, the Air Officer Commanding of the Air Defence Operations Centre, the Air Officers Commanding of BAF Bases Bir Uttam A.K. Khandker and Bashar, the Commandant of Bangladesh Air Force Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), members of the BCASPS Governing Body and other senior Bangladesh Air Force officials.
