US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting in Manila to discuss further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
The high-level meeting was attended by key officials, including Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Humaiun Kobir, as well as the US Ambassador to India and Special Envoy to South and Central Asia Sergio Gor.
During the discussion, Secretary Marco Rubio congratulated Foreign Minister Rahman on his election as President of the upcoming 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and bilateral ties across mutual areas of interest.
Before concluding the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman extended an official invitation to Secretary Marco Rubio to visit Bangladesh.
