Bangladesh women's kabaddi team aim to finish test series with win
Bangladesh national women's kabaddi team won the five-match bilateral kabaddi test series with one match in hand beating touring Nepal women's kabaddi team by 34-22 points in the fourth match held on Tuesday at the National Kabaddi Stadium in the capital. -BKF
The Bangladesh national women's kabaddi team will aim to finish the series on a high when they take on the touring Nepal women's kabaddi team in the fifth and final match of the five-match Women's Kabaddi Test Series Thursday at the National Kabaddi Stadium.
Bangladesh have already secured the series with one match to spare.
The hosts took a 1-0 lead by winning the opening match 34-24, before Nepal bounced back to level the series with a 25-20 victory in the second Test. Bangladesh regained the lead by defeating Nepal 31-23 in the third match and then sealed the series with a commanding 34-22 win in the fourth Test.
The home side will now be looking to clinch victory in the final match and end the series with an emphatic 4-1 triumph.
Earlier, Bangladesh women's kabaddi team outclassed Nepal by a huge margin of 34-22 points in the fourth match held at the National Kabaddi Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, clinching the series (3-1) with one match in hand.
Nepal was desperate from the start to survive in the series. They took an 8-4 lead in the first half of the match by presenting an aggressive game. However, the host girls did not give up. Bangladesh quickly reduced the gap by earning some great bonus points. Then, they took the lead by showing great tackling and raiding and ended the first half with a 13-11 point lead.
After the break, Nepal tried to return to the match, but it could not survive the strategic play of Bangladesh. At one stage of the game, Bangladesh took 2 points by 'super tackling' a Nepali player, which increased the gap to 21-15 points. Then, another 3 points came from a brilliant 'super raid' by MebiChakma.
Immediately, Bangladesh established complete control of the match by 'all-outing' the visiting Nepal. Finally, the red-green representatives left the field with a resounding victory of 34-22 points at the end of the stipulated time.
Bangladesh's BrishtiBiswas was adjudged the best player (Man of the Match) due to his extraordinary performance throughout the match. The new General Secretary of the Kabaddi Federation and Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Israel Howlader presented the award at the end of the game.
Kabaddi Federation Joint Secretary Anwar HossainAnu, Joint Secretary Nasir Ahmed Saju and Volleyball Federation Vice President BimalGhoshBhulu were also present at the time.
