Khansama beggars get goats under rehabliatation program

As part of the implementation of the beggar rehabilitation program in Khansama upazila of Dinajpur, goats have been distributed among the poor and marginalized people. 

This humanitarian aid was provided at the initiative of the Upazila Social Service Office on Wednesday. 

This step of the government to improve the living standards of the backward people of rural villages has received a positive response from the local community. This assistance will pave the way for rehabilitation.  Jatiya Sangsad Whip Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, was present as the chief guest at the distribution ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Whip Aktaruzzaman, "The government is conducting multifaceted development activities to make the neglected and marginalized people of the society permanently self-reliant. He also mentioned that all-round assistance will be provided to those who want to leave the begging profession and return to a normal and respectable life." Local administrative officials, representatives of the Social Services Department and local political leaders were present at the event organized under the supervision of the Upazila Social Services Office. An emotional atmosphere was created while handing over the goats to the beneficiary beggars. 

Those concerned expressed the hope that by taking such effective initiatives, it will be possible to make the area beggar-free in phases.
