Southeast Bank PLC. has received shareholder approval to increase its authorised capital from Tk 1,500 crore to Tk 2,000 crore and distribute a total 10% dividend for the 2025 financial year, comprising 3% cash and 7% stock.
The decisions were approved at the bank's 9th Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) and 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM), held virtually on Thursday, according to a press release.
The meetings were chaired by M. A. Kashem, Chairman of Southeast Bank PLC., while Vice Chairperson Rehana Rahman and other directors, independent directors, senior executives, sponsors and shareholders joined through a digital platform. Managing Director and CEO Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan presented the bank's 2025 financial performance and outlined its future business strategy, with a focus on improving operational efficiency, strengthening asset quality and sustaining long-term growth. According to the bank, consolidated operating profit reached Tk 11,978.43 million in 2025. As of December 31, 2025, total deposits stood at Tk 439,234.90 million, while total assets rose to Tk 554,424.56 million. The bank reported consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 2.51 and a net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 25.74. Its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio stood at 3.62 times, while total regulatory capital reached Tk 51,096.18 million. Southeast Bank also maintained a cost-to-income ratio of 39.56%, reflecting its continued focus on operational efficiency. During the EGM, shareholders unanimously approved amendments to the bank's Memorandum and Articles of Association to facilitate the increase in authorised capital.
At the AGM, shareholders endorsed the Board of Directors' recommendation for a 3% cash dividend and a 7% stock dividend for the year ended December 31, 2025.
Chairman M. A. Kashem thanked shareholders for their continued confidence and support, saying the bank remains committed to strengthening its performance, enhancing operational excellence and creating sustainable long-term value for stakeholders.
