Mamun Hasan has been appointed as chairman of Bangladesh Jute Corporation since the government has made fresh contractual appointments to top posts of 12 important agencies, boards and corporations.
Of the appointments, one has been made to the post of Additional Secretary at the Election Commission Secretariat, while the remaining 11 appointments are to Grade-2 posts for a one-year term.
The appointments were announced in 12 separate notifications issued by the Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (23 July). The notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani.
According to the notifications, Md Salahuddin Sarker has been appointed Director General of the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation on a contractual basis with Grade-2 status. Mohammad Rashedul Haque has been appointed Managing Director of Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited (BOESL), while Mohammad Mosaddak Hossain Bulbul has been appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation.
ATM Abdul Bari Dani has been appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), and Md Kamruzzaman (Kamruzzaman Dulal) has been appointed Executive Secretary of the Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council.
Abdul Khaleque has been appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation, Md Shamsuzzaman (Suruj) Chairman of the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation, and Kazi Rownakul Islam (Tipu) Managing Director of the Bangladesh Climate Change Trust.
Md Zakir Siddiqui has been appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Handloom Board, Benazir Ahmed Chairman of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).
Meanwhile, Md Shamsul Alam has been appointed Additional Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat on a contractual basis for one year.
The notifications said the appointees would serve for one year from the date of joining, on condition that they relinquish any other profession, business or involvement with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation.
