Community Courtyard Meetings Held in Five Villages of Keraniganj Under the ‘Pathomita’ Programme
As part of the Pathomita programme, community courtyard meetings were held in five villages of Keraniganj on 25 July 2026 to raise awareness about improving children's foundational literacy and numeracy skills. The meetings were organised by the Institute of Informatics and Development (IID) and implemented at the field level by the Action for Sustainable Development Society (ASDS).
Around 30–40 parents attended each meeting, along with local community leaders and respected residents. The sessions introduced the objectives of the Pathomita programme, highlighted the importance of joyful, child-friendly learning, and encouraged parents to actively support their children's education.
Speaking at the event, Tarikul Islam Ratul, President of ASDS, said that “Pathomita is a child-friendly learning initiative where children learn through play, stories, songs, and interactive activities. When learning becomes enjoyable, children naturally develop a love for education and become eager to attend classes.”
He also urged parents and the community to work together to ensure every child receives quality foundational education.
IID and ASDS expressed optimism that active community participation would contribute to improving children's learning outcomes and strengthening the quality of primary education in Keraniganj.
