The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Habiganj Agricultural University (HAKU) Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque formally assumed charge on Monday. After assuming charge, the teachers, officers, employees and students of the university extended him a warm welcome with floral greetings.
At the reception organized on the university campus, teachers, officers and employees of various faculties and departments welcomed the newly appointed VC with bouquets of flowers. Later, he met and exchanged views with the teachers, students, officers and employees of the university. People from different classes and professions, including local media personnel, were present at the time.
Earlier, Prof Dr Md Mozammel Haque has been appointed vice-chancellor of Habiganj Agricultural University under Section 10(1) of the Habiganj Agricultural University Act, 2020 for a period of four years.
Professor Dr. Mozammel Haque is a well-known and senior teacher of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Since its establishment in the 2004-05 academic year, he has been associated with the Food Engineering and Tea Technology (FET) Department and is serving as the most senior teacher of the department. He was the head of the department for nine years from 2008 to 2017. He is currently serving as the director of the Center of Excellence of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST).
To mention, Professor Dr. Mozammel Haque completed his graduation and post-graduation from Bangladesh Agricultural University. Later, he obtained his Masters and PhD degrees in Agriculture from Chiba University, Japan, after receiving the prestigious 'MEXT' scholarship from the Japanese government.
