A vision center was formally inaugurated next to the Dinajpur Mirzapur Bus Terminal to ensure technology-based eye treatment services for bus drivers and transport workers of Dinajpur district. Dinajpur Sadar-3 MP Syed Jahangir Alam inaugurated the center on Wednesday as the chief guest. The vision center was launched under the initiative of Gausul Azam BNSB Eye Hospital and in collaboration with Orbis International and Good People International.
Speaking the occasion, MP Syed Jahangir Alam said, "Driver's healthy eyesight is very important for a safe road system. Mirzapur Vision Center will provide regular eye check-ups and treatment opportunities for transport workers, which will play an important role in increasing road safety." Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of Bangladesh National Blind Welfare Association (Gausul Azam BNSB Eye Hospital) Md. Rafiqul Islam presided over program while General Secretary of the Hospital Committee Dr. Chowdhury Mosaddequl Isdani delivered the welcome speech.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Abdul Halim, acting Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Golam Rasul Rakhi, Dinajpur Circle BRTA Assistant Director Md. Shamsul Kabir, Country Director of Orbis International Dr. Munir Ahmed, Project Manager of Good People International Minhaj Ahmed, Hospital Director Sharifuzzaman Parag, President of Dinajpur District Road Transport Owners Group Bhabani Shankar Agarwala and Convener of Dinajpur Motor Transport Workers Union Abdul Qayyum spoke as special guests.
