BAT Bangladesh Welcomes Kakhaber Benidze as New Managing Director

Kakhaber Benidze has been appointed as the ManagingDirector of British American Tobacco Bangladesh PLC. effective 1stMay 2026. He succeeds Monisha Abraham, whose leadership contributed to strongbusiness performance during her tenure at BAT Bangladesh.

 

Mr. Benidze is a seasoned business leader with morethan 25 years of industry experience, including over 15 years in board-level managementroles across the FMCG sector. Since joining BAT in 2001 as a mid-career recruit, he has held senior leadershippositions in Marketing, Supply Chain and General Management, building a strongtrack record of commercial delivery, organisational transformation andstakeholder engagement across diverse markets.

 

Throughout his career, he has also served as GeneralManager across several complex and multicultural markets, including Ukraine,the Middle East, the Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia) & Moldova region, and Europe, MiddleEast and Africa. Prior to his appointment in Bangladesh, Mr. Benidze served as General Manager of BAT Switzerland and BAT AustriaCluster. His leadership has been marked by a focus on business turnarounds, sustainablegrowth, portfolio transformation and capability building.

 

Mr. Benidze joined the Board of Directors of BAT Bangladeshon 1st May 2026. With his extensive international experience,strategic outlook and hands-on leadership approach, he is well positioned toguide BAT Bangladesh through its next phase of growth and continuedcontribution to the national economy.

 

Mr. Benidze holds an Executive MBA, a master’s degreein jurisprudence, and a degree in Landscape Architecture.
