U.S., Bangladesh Reaffirm Defense Ties to Boost Regional Stability

​Admiral Samuel Koehler, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, met with Bangladesh Defense Advisor AKM Shamsul Islam on Tuesday to discuss bilateral defense ties and regional security initiatives.

​During the high-level meeting, both military leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. Discussions centered on expanding maritime cooperation, strategic defense dialogue, and shared regional security priorities.

​"A strong U.S.-Bangladesh partnership contributes directly to a more stable, secure, and prosperous region," Admiral Koehler stated, emphasizing the strategic value of sustained collaboration between the two nations.

​The bilateral engagement highlights ongoing joint efforts to enhance maritime security, build operational interoperability, and address evolving security challenges across the Indo-Pacific.
