Rangamati disaster-affected families receive food aid

Rangamati Zila Parishad has provided food assistance to 1,300 disaster-affected families in Rangamati district under a special allocation from the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.

The food aid was distributed at a programme held at Kathaltali Government Primary School in Ward No-7 of Rangamati Municipality on Saturday. 

Rangamati Zila Parishad member Md Habib Azam attended the programme as the chief guest.

Among others, Rangamati Municipal BNP President Md Shafiul Azam Shafi, Joint Secretary Md Helal Uddin, Ward No- 7 BNP President Md Nurul Islam and General Secretary Md Selim were present.

Speaking at the programme, Md Habib Azam said food grains allocated through the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs were being distributed among people affected by natural disasters in Rangamati in line with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's directives.

He said the government assistance would be distributed in phases among disaster-affected families across Rangamati municipality.
