A significant courtesy meeting was held at the headquarters of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party on Monday to discuss the implementation of the Ansar-VDP Development Bank’s Core Banking System (CBS), establishment of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Data Centre (DC) sites, adoption of cloud-based infrastructure, and the bank’s overall modernization and digital transformation, according to a press release.
Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, SGP, BAM, NDU, AFWC, PSC, Chairman of Ansar-VDP Development Bank, attended the meeting as the chief guest. Members of the technical committee formed for establishing the bank’s DR and DC sites, along with representatives of Felicity IDC and Fiber@Home Bangladesh, participated in the meeting. The bank was represented by its Deputy Managing Director, General Manager (Administration), and General Manager (Accounts and Audit).
Representatives of Felicity IDC and Fiber@Home Bangladesh gave detailed presentations on their modern data centre, cloud infrastructure, connectivity and ICT services.
They expressed optimism about providing effective, secure and future-ready technological solutions, taking into consideration the bank’s ongoing CBS implementation, existing workforce and institutional capabilities.
The chairman underscored the importance of successfully implementing the CBS, establishing DR and DC sites, and adopting cloud-based infrastructure. He said ensuring data security, business continuity, disaster recovery and uninterrupted banking services is essential for building a modern, reliable and technology-driven banking system.
The meeting also expressed a positive commitment to adopting necessary cloud-based technologies for establishing the DR and DC sites while fully complying with applicable Bangladesh Bank policies and directives.
Important discussions were also held on various modernization initiatives of the bank, including the much-anticipated “Sanjiban Project” for members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party.
A robust CBS + DR & DC + Digital Payment Infrastructure will serve as a key foundation for expanding the scope of the Sanjiban Project in the future and ensuring faster, more transparent and technology-driven financial services for Ansar-VDP members.
The initiative is not merely an effort to introduce new technology; rather, it marks an important step forward for Ansar-VDP Development Bank toward establishing a modern, secure, fast and member-friendly banking system.
The technology-driven banking system is expected to make banking services more accessible, secure and modern for members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party.
