President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday appointed Justice Md Habibul Gani as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
"The President made the appointment in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution. The appointment will take effect from the day he takes oath of office," said a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division. Born on May 31, 1962, Justice Md Habibul Gani obtained MSS and LLB degrees from the University of Chittagong.
He was enrolled as an advocate of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on April 11, 1992. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on April 18, 2010, and appointed as a Judge of the same Division on April 15, 2012.
