Kader Gani Chowdhury appointed BSS MD
The government has appointed senior journalist Muhammad Kader Gani Chowdhury as Managing Director and Chief Editor of the state-run news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha- BSS.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday.
According to the notification, Kader Gani Chowdhury has been appointed under the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Act, 2018, on a contractual basis for one year.
His appointment will take effect from the date of his joining and is subject to his relinquishing any employment or professional engagement with any other profession, business, or government, semi-government, or private institution or organization.
Kader Gani Chowdhury replaces Md Kamal Uddin Mozumder, better known as Kamal Uddin Shabuj, who was appointed BSS Managing Director and chief editor on April 7.
Kader Gani Chowdhury has long been involved in journalism. He is currently serving as secretary general of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), the apex platform of journalists in Bangladesh.
