Shulokhana Khan's noteworthy feat as a juvenile editor
Shulokhana Khan is on the 0-8 team at Scholastic with a primary focus on picture books and board books. She is particularly interested in books with strong voices that are humorous, empowering, dark, or touching, with special interest in the variety of BIPOC experiences.
She is a children's book editor at Scholastic in the United States of America where she has worked with a number of incredibly talented authors, including Joanna Ho, Marc Brown, Kelly Dipucchio, Ruby Bridges and more, over the course of almost four years.
Shulokhana Khan's expertise is in children's fiction for ages 4-8. She is skilled at providing developmental edits and line edits, as well as feedback on marketability and query letter reviews. She loves getting into the nitty-gritty details of word choice, punctuation choice and page flips, all of which are elements that are integral to the perfect read-aloud. Helping writers tease out the thesis of their story to make a snappy and satisfying read is her ultimate goal.
