CoU inter-department football tournament kicks off
The Inter-Department Football Tournament 2026 at Comilla University (CoU) has officially kicked off with the opening match between the Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Economics.
On Sunday at 3:00 PM, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain Sarkar inaugurated the tournament at the university's central playground.
The event was presided over by Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, Convener of Sports Management Committee and Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics.
In his speech as the chief guest, Pro-VC Professor Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain Sarkar stated, "The inter-department tournament is not an international or national competition; whichever team wins belongs to our university. Therefore, instead of being aggressive, everyone should maintain friendly behavior during the games."
In his presidential address, Dr. Md. Mohiuddin remarked, "Victory and defeat are both part of sports. Treat sports as entertainment and learn from the outcomes to prepare for the next time. If any issues arise, report them to the experienced referees."
Among others, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Belal Uddin, Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Hakim, Director of the Student Counseling and Guidance Bureau Professor Dr. Julhas Uddin, alongside faculty members and students from various departments.
