The arrestees were identified as Farid Bepari, 23, Md Sabuj, 22, Shahadat Hossain Alif, 18, and Rifat Hossain, 19.
Two foreign-made pistols, two magazines, two rounds of ammunition, a switchblade knife, a sharp curved knife and 160 yaba tablets were recovered from their possession, Additional Police Commissioner of DMP's DB Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said at a press briefing Thursday.
Shafiqul Islam said the gunfight and display of locally made weapons took place between two groups between 7pm and 7:30pm on August 30 (Sunday), in Munshirteck area of Swamibagh in Gandaria over establishing and controlling dominance in the drug trade.
Three people, including a woman, were injured in the shooting in the Munshirtek area of Swamibagh around 7:30pm on August 30.
Following the incident, Gendaria police and the DB's Wari division launched an investigation to identify those involved and recover the weapons used in the shooting.
Acting on intelligence and CCTV footage from the scene, a DB team raided the construction site of Ishrat Construction beside the road from Dholairpar towards Dayaganj in Mir Hajirbagh and arrested the four, police said.
Police claimed during initial questioning that the four were active members of an organised group involved in illegal arms and drug trading.
A case under the Arms Act has been filed with Jatrabari police against them. DB is continuing efforts to arrest others allegedly involved in the incident, police said.
