Free animal care, tree saplings distributed in Tangail
A program for free animal health care, vaccination and fish food distribution and tree sapling distribution among students was held in Tangail.
In collaboration with the district livestock department, the program was organized by Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association at Tartia School Ground in the district on Friday.
tate Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku graced the program as the chief guest while Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, convener of Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association, was in the chair.
Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association Convener Adnan Azad, Director of Livestock Department Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, Project Director of Department of Agricultural Extension and Advisor Animal Welfare Association Tangail District Branch Dr KM Badrul Haque were present as special guests.
The program was hosted by Mohsin Hossain Saddam Prathani and Tangail Volunteer Forum Member Secretary Mohidul Islam Mohit.
Under the program, health check-ups were provided to cattle and other animals and necessary advices were give locals involved in livestock rearing to in the area. In addition, free vaccines were given to various animals including cows and goats.
Speakers at the program emphasized on creating awareness along with providing services at the doorsteps of people related to the livestock and fisheries sector.
They said that fisheries and livestock play an important role in the country's economy and people's lives. For safe and sustainable livestock production, regular vaccination, proper care and timely treatment are necessary. At the same time, everyone should come forward to plant trees and take care of trees to maintain the balance of the environment.
Later, at the end of the program, saplings of different species of trees were distributed among the students of Tartia School.
