OC Sajedul's fight against drugs

Two months since joining, Cumilla's Daudkandi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajedul Islam Polash has made a great impact seizing big numbers of drugs through anti-drug operation in the upazila.

Since joining at Daudkandi Model Police Station, from July 5 to September, 2026, a total of  1,24,966 pieces of Yaba tablets, 727 kg 400 grams of ganja, 1,575 bottles of Fairdyl syrup, 1,201 bottles of Escuf syrup, 06 bottles of liquor, 02 foreign pistols and 05 rounds of bullets were seized through anti-drug drives.

According to OC Sajedul, 58 accused in drug cases, 94 people with arrest warrants, 56 robbers, 28 kidnappers, 75 people in other cases, a total of 286 people were arrested. The estimated value of the seized drugs is around Tk. 5.5 crores.

OC Sajedul Islam said, "Since joining at Daudkandi Model Police Station Model Police Station on July 5, 2026, under the directive of the Honorable Superintendent of Police, Cumilla, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police, Daudkandi Circle, from various places in the upazila including the toll plaza area of Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, significant successes have been achieved due to the hard work, dedication and responsibility of the officers and forces working in the police station."

"Drug addiction is a threat to the country's youths and future generations. Where drugs relate with other crimes including illegal weapons, kidnapping, theft and robbery activities. In addition to Yaba, Phensedyl, ganja, heroin, some new drugs including ice and LSD are currently being used. The implementation of District Superintendent of Police's 'Zero Tolerance Against Drugs' policy, the police of the Model Police Station are constantly conducting drives gainst drugs and conducting surveillance with secret information, keeping in mind with the slogan 'Let's go to war, against drugs', the OC said.

"The Daudkandi Model Police will continue to work more firmly with the determination to make Daudkandi free from drugs, terrorism, robbery, kidnapping and crime, insha'Allah," the OC added.
