BD clinches four medals in Murshidabad
Visitors Bangladesh achieved remarkable success at the World Long Distance Swimming Championships held in Murshidabad, India. Bangladeshi swimmers secured a total of four medals, including one gold, two silvers and one bronze.
The 19 km men's, 19 km women's and 81 km men's events were held in Murshidabad, India on Sunday. A significant number of swimmers from home and abroad participated in various categories. 28 swimmers competed in the 81 km event, 36 swimmers in the 19 km men's event and 15 swimmers in the 19 km women's event.
A total of 9 swimmers from Bangladesh participated in the competition. Of these, 6 participated in the 19 km and 3 in the 81 km event.
Bangladesh’s Army swimmer Faisal Ahmed claimed the gold medal in the 19 km men's event with incredible performance. Bangladesh Navy swimmer Sonia Akhter won the silver medal in the women's event in the same distance.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Navy's Palash Chowdhury sealed the silver medal in the toughest 81 km men's event. Bangladesh Army's Nurul Islam won the bronze medal in the same event.
This success of Bangladeshi swimmers has further strengthened Bangladesh's position in the international long-distance swimming arena. Winning two medals, especially in a long and difficult event of 81 kilometers, is very promising for long-distance swimming in Bangladesh.

and hopes to bring more success to Bangladesh at the international level in the future.
